During my residency in Kamiyama on Shikoku Island, I had the opportunity to visit the Awagami Paper factory. It was there that I discovered this beautiful paper made from hemp fibers, which I worked on while listening to the sounds of the crickets and cicadas of Kamiyama for hours. The drawing, which measures approximately 2 meters by 94 cm, was made with a very thick pencil and is composed of prints of Boehmeria nivea leaves I collected from the surrounding area, selecting those with particular shapes, as they had been nibbled on by caterpillars.
