Appareils Sporophoniques residency in Stuk

Musical instrument project designed for sound diffusion through an octophonic sound system: Sporophonic Devices. This project fosters the creation of immersive sound experiences and environments that evolve into ecosystems of their own. Roxane Métayer developed this project in venues dedicated to sound art, such as Overtoon in Brussels and the STUK art center in Leuven. The device consists of ceramic speakers, handcrafted by Métayer, and a control box equipped with a Bela microcontroller programmed in C++, which dynamically manages the movement of sounds between the speakers during live performances.
